Alamosa, Colorado

Cecily did great on our longest driving leg from Denver to Alamosa. We made a couple stops along the way to break up the road trip which worked out great for everyone. Enjoyed a new area of Colorado we’ve never visited along with new national park.

Random find on google maps for a hot day was a swim beach at Lake Pueblo State Park.
Pool and spa to ourselves at the Alamosa Fairfield Inn
The gang mentally prepped for hiking to the top of the great sand dunes national park.
A few breaks along the way for rest and water.
Eureka!
Making due without a sandboard

3 Days in Denver, Colorado

We’ve been to Colorado numerous times over the years, but mostly in the winter for skiing and never spent any time in Denver. We took an opportunity to visit Colorado for 17 days this summer and spent the first few days in downtown Denver.

Sanchez park appeared on a list of top playgrounds and was a first stop before the hotel.
Great day exploring the Denver science museum
Lunchtime views of downtown Denver and mountains from the science museum
Scored some resale tix in row 1 to the Colorado Rapids MLS game. They won 2-0!
Just missed the craziness of the all star game
103 degrees in Denver, so headed west into Idaho Springs to cool down
