Monday redux

Made it safely to papeete on sunday afternoon after a 5 hour flight on air new zealand from auckland.  What a great airline with nice seats, friendly staff, good food (never had ice cream on a plane before, excellent NZ ice cream as well) and good entertainment choices.  Passed thru customs with no issues and off in a taxi to our hotel nearby on the west coast of the island.  We have a nice view from our room to Moorea, which we’ll hopefully visit in this short visit.

Thoroughly impressed with the room, especially after living in a van for 3 weeks.  For example, was able to get up in the middle of the night and use the toilet without hassle of opening a van door, putting on shoes and finding a place to go.

Enjoyed a couple tasty happy hour cocktails at the pool bar, then grabbed a light meal at the hotel restaurant.  Called it a night back at the room.  Up early today and we get to repeat our monday, due to the international date line crossing yesterday.  Off to explore the island and hopefully line up some surfing and diving.
